The Chita Rivera Awards took place on Broadway in New York City on Monday.
This annual star-studded event recognizes excellence in dance and choreography on Broadway, Off-Broadway and on screen. Monday night was attended by Broadway performances, special guest award winners and notable presenters.
As the only “awards ceremony” dedicated to dance, the Chita Rivera Awards celebrates the past, celebrates the present, and invests in future generations to foster an ongoing sense of community.
Past attendees include Tommy Tune, Ann Reinking, Ben Vereen, Bebe Neuwirth, Jon Kander, Hal Prince, George C. Wolfe, Carmen Delavalado, the cast of current hit Broadway shows, and other Tony Awards. Award-winning actors, choreographers, and more. And, of course, the peerless Chita Rivera.
All proceeds go to the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation College Scholarship Program, which provides college scholarships to talented teenagers.
