Make Music Day is a global celebration of music and Make Music Ann Arbor is set to make it’s return for the second year with a stacked lineup of free music events across the city on Friday, June 21st.
Make Music Day has become the world’s largest music event, originating in France back in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique and is now celebrated by over 2,000 cities across the world and over 150 cities in the Unites States.
Last year marked Ann Arbor’s first Make Music celebration and they did so with 30 acts across 13 venues.
This year will feature activities at the Downtown Ann Arbor Library such as a musical petting zoo, DIY instrument making, modular synth workshop, and a DJ workshop. Over at the Westgate Branch courtyard will host performances from noon until 6 p.m with a variety of music and music styles.
